The Traitors: New Blood, season 5 of the US series, is back with a special two-hour premiere scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 8 PM ET/PT on NBC. New episodes will stream on Peacock the following day. Another two-hour episode will air the following Thursday, September 24, before the show moves to its usual one-hour timeslot on October 8. With Alan Cumming returning to host and 22 everyday Americans entering the castle for a prize of up to $250,000, there’s a lot to look forward to.
I’m only recommending official sources for watching The Traitors: New Blood (S5) online. Any unlicensed streams are likely to be of far inferior quality. Low resolution and frequent lag and buffering could cause you to miss key moments. Unauthorized streams also run the risk of being taken offline for copyright infringement. For the best possible experience watching The Traitors US season 5, you’re better off sticking with the official sources listed below.
The Traitors US is only streaming on region-locked platforms. For this reason, you’ll need a VPN to watch via your home streaming platform when traveling overseas.
How to watch The Traitors: New Blood online with a VPN
Copyright and licensing restrictions mean that The Traitors US season 5 isn’t available to stream everywhere. If you’re going on vacation outside the US, your stream will be region-locked.
This is where a VPN, or Virtual Private Network, comes in handy. You’ll be able to change your IP address and spoof your location, bypassing any geographic restrictions. In this post, I explain how to use a VPN to watch The Traitors US season 5 online from anywhere.
Here’s how to watch The Traitors season 5 online from anywhere:
- Start by signing up with a quality VPN service. I recommend NordVPN, but Surfshark and IPVanish are also among the best VPNs for streaming.
- Next, download and install the VPN software that’s compatible with your device. All of the best VPNs allow multiple simultaneous connections per account.
- Log in to the VPN app and connect to a server in the country of the streaming service you’re trying to access. For example, a server in the US to access Peacock.
- Go to the streaming platform and sign in or sign up for an account if you haven’t already. Select The Traitors US season 5, which should now be unblocked for live streaming on NBC or on-demand.
- Still blocked? Clear your browser’s cache and cookies to help Peacock forget your old IP address and location. You might need to switch servers to find an IP address that works.
Want to watch The Traitors US live? I recommend testing your VPN ahead of the season 5 premiere. That way, you can verify it works as it should. If you have any trouble, you’ll have time to get in touch with your VPN’s customer support for further troubleshooting.
How to watch The Traitors: New Blood in the USA
The Traitors US season 5 will air live on NBC, with new episodes available to stream on Peacock the following day. You’ll need a Peacock Premium (USD $12.99/month) or Premium Plus ($19.99/month) subscription to watch on-demand. The key difference is that Premium Plus is largely ad-free and lets you download content to watch offline. Peacock is only available in the US and certain US territories such as Puerto Rico. You’ll need a VPN and US IP address to stream it if you’re traveling outside these countries. Where else can I watch The Traitors US season 5?
The Traitors US is broadcast and streamed in several other countries, with episodes often following the initial US release not long after.
How to watch The Traitors US season 5 in the UK
If you’re in the UK, then previous seasons of The Traitors US are available on BBC iPlayer, which is free to watch. However, a UK release date for The Traitors US season 5 has not yet been confirmed. Season 4 eventually arrived on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer several months after its US premiere, so UK viewers may have to wait a while.
The good news is that BBC iPlayer doesn’t require a paid subscription. All you need is a BBC account, which you can get with any email and UK postal code. Technically speaking, watching BBC iPlayer content live or on demand requires a UK TV license. However, anybody outside of Britain is free to stream without one. Simply tick the box and the player will load.
BBC iPlayer is only available to stream in the UK. This means you will need to connect to a VPN server in the UK to get a British IP address, bypass the geographic restrictions, and stream it from anywhere. BBC iPlayer also lets you stream The Traitors UK, which has also run for four seasons to date. You can access all of these episodes from anywhere with a VPN.
How to watch The Traitors US season 5 in Australia
In Australia, previous seasons of The Traitors US can be streamed on 10 Play. This is free to watch, but you’ll still need to sign up for an account if you don’t have one already. You’ll also be able to stream Australia’s own version of the show.
At the time of writing, 10 Play has not yet confirmed a release date for The Traitors US season 5. I recommend checking local press to learn when it will premiere. Just keep in mind that 10 Play is only available in Australia, so you’ll need a VPN and Australian IP address to watch from abroad.
How to watch The Traitors US season 5 in Canada
Crave is home to The Traitors US in Canada, where season 5 episodes are available to stream the day after their US broadcast. You can also watch The Traitors: New Blood live on CTV2 from September 17 at 8 PM ET/PT. That’s not all either because you’ll also be able to watch episodes of The Traitors Canada as well as The Traitors UK. A paid Crave subscription is required for on-demand streaming.
Crave will become region-locked if you travel outside Canada, but using a VPN to connect to a Canadian server will bypass restrictions.
Can I use a free VPN to watch The Traitors US season 5 online?
The trouble with free VPNs is that they struggle to unblock the streaming services showing The Traitors US. Very few actually work with the likes of Peacock and BBC iPlayer. Another problem is that free VPNs tend to throttle bandwidth and impose data limits, making streaming much more of a challenge. This can result in low-resolution, lag-filled streams.
What many people don’t realise when they download free VPNs is that their data may be at risk. Free VPNs often have weak encryption, don’t protect against DNS leaks, and may not offer other key features such as a kill switch. Some free VPNs make money through in-app ads. Others log and sell identifying personal data to third parties.
